Dabida Day 2013
Dabida Day 2013
The Dabida day is a yearly event organized by Dabida, The Dutch and Belgian Institute of Doll Artists. I had a wonderful day with my dollmaker friends. Thanks to all doll art lovers that came to have a look at our creations!
Here’s my table where I showed for the first time my new graphic creations. For a few months I had been working really hard on these frames, posters, greeting cards, jewelry, etc. So it was really exciting for me to show them for the first time. I have to admit I was a bit nervous to see everyone’s reaction. But people were really surprised and reacted enthousiastic to my new work, so, no need to be nervous at all!! 😀
My little magic box with jewelry I made with the pictures I took from my fairies…
Rings and key chains more in detail…
Fairy banners made of beautiful satin. I work part time as a webdesigner for a company that prints fabrics, like flags, etc. No wonder I got an idea for this!! 😀 They really added some fairy atmosphere to it all. I think they would look gorgeous in a little girls room, don’t you think? 🙂
Here’s a picture of Fairy Dust Shower so you can see how it looks on my table.
I had these little two fairies with me last year, but for those of you who weren’t at the dabida exhibitions, this will be the first time to see them. They’re not on my website yet.
I brought Secret Garden with me, a lot of visitors told me this is their favourite. It’s alway nice to hear that people are enjoying my work…
And a lovely new fairy by Tine Kamerbeek. It’s always a great pleasure to see her and her new work again. So detailed, I’m in awe every time… 😀
This is a doll from our beautiful and sweet guest of honour, Renata Jansen from England. This is so amazingly realistic, do you recognize her?
Beautiful art work by Christine Polis, my fellow native doll artist from Belgium.
Svetlana Pchelnikova came with some beautiful dolls all the way over from Russia and Estonia.
Every year we hand out the Hannie Sarris Award and doll artists from all over the world participate in this competition. these are the three nominees.
This year’s winner Dorote Zaukaite, with a very beautiful art doll. This year’s theme was “Joy”.
